From West Coast Vice Chair / Championships 2019
Last post by Randy Warkentin - Wed, 02/27/19, 12:36 AM
This year has been a hard one but we have a location for the Championships for 2019. This year it will be located in Clovis, Ca. Dates are October 17-20th and will be hosted by the Clovis RC Club. I want to say this is a very new club but they are willing to take on the challenge without worry. The club is excited and are already making advances to make it a great event. The Field location is PEG field east of Clovis. This is a full size private runway 3,000' X 60'. There is ample parking for the event including parking for RV's. Hotel and Banquet information coming soon. Hope to see you all there for a weekend of competition and excitement.

Hi this is for everyone. This came to lite last week when I had a complaint where a area is not being appreciated. I want to start that US Scale Masters is a volunteer organization. This is from the top on down. I volunteer and everyone else on the board are also. So to address the complaint. This year was a extra burden on finding a location for the West Coast Championships. We tried to find many different locations for the Championships. We found several locations and unfortunately it did not work out for them. There were many reasons why but the bottom line the different clubs did not feel it worked for them. The reason for this post is back to the original volunteer part of Scale Masters. If you as a Scale Masters competitor or avid follower of Scale Masters wants to have a Championships in there area then you need to talk it up within the hopefull host club. It takes only one person to get it started. We Scale Masters do not just randomly start sending out emails to different clubs hoping that one decides it sounds interesting. It takes a local person to get the ball rolling by contacting there local club and then contacting Scale Masters. So if you would like to have a contest in your area talk it up with the proposed Host club and contact Scale Masters preferably the board member that is the rep for your area and we will try our best to make it happen. We are here to help and the staff will try our best to help in any way that we can. That means that you have to volunteer to get the ball rolling.

I have posted also on Face Book about the weather in the coming days, for the Champs it looks like there is a possible chance of rain in the nite hours/early mornings. I have been told the field is in great shape and dry as of the other day, local report matches no real rain in the forecast. Now no one can control the weather, I was raised by a meteorologist so the one thing was not to let the weather control you. With this said I am looking forward to seeing as many of you at the Champs as possible. I have a long drive out and back so looking to have good weather, lots of fun, catching up with old/new friends and having MANY contestants at the Champs.
See You There

We have made our goal for the Best of's sponsorship all 32 Awards have been sold, this will go a long way in founding the Champs. Alone with the Best of's sponsors, we have had two sponsors step up for Class Sponsorship, our Expert and ProAm Pro Classes have been sponsored.  You should be getting your 2018 Champs invitations now, if you do not get your invite in the next week or so PLEASE contact me with all your info as in where you qualified, name, class, score, email, address and phone number.
Use the National Chairman contact from the USSMA website
See all of you at the 2018 Champs

Events / A Scale Masters Qualifier what...
Last post by Randy Warkentin - Wed, 08/08/18, 11:03 PM
Just want all to know that we are working hard on getting out the invites from USSMA for this years 2018 Champs. I am personally entering all the info into the data base so those invites can go out. These invites are going out in the next couple of days. A big reason for this delay is the info can be not read or is worthless and waiting from CD's to send out correct or legible info. I want to let the CD's know what we need for this whole process to go quickly is this. We need the full name, email address, and class that they are qualified in. Scores would only be needed if we need to figure out if they are qualified or not, but if you have already figured it out scores are not needed. I know that contestants like to get that invite even if they are not planning on going. We at USSMA also like to give the Contestant that invite to show that they put for an effort and that it is recognized.
For all future Qualifiers the most important things that a CD can send for the results is again typed Full Name, Email Address, Class they Qualified in.
As for the best way to send the info is Word, Microsoft Word or Excel. Most any other method means we have to enter all the info letter by letter.
Hope this helps for future Championships.

From National Chair / 2018 Champs Sponsorship
Last post by Curtis Kitteringham - Sun, 07/29/18, 11:13 PM
The USSMA is very lucky to have had modelers step up to help with sponsoring this years champs, at this time they know who they are. All will be announced at the Champs and posted on the web at the end of the event.
We still have 11 Best of's looking for sponsors, our Expert Class, ProAm Pro Class trophies are now being sponsored, still looking for the other 3 classes to be sponsored.
With sponsoring your name will go on the shirt and the awards that you have steeped up for. The goal is a 100% sponsored contest this will insure that the USSMA will be able to look forward to the 2019 Champs on good a footing and into the future.
Contact us with any questions, sponsors can use PayPal from the home page of the USSMA web site

From National Chair / Update 2018 Champs sponsors
Last post by Curtis Kitteringham - Tue, 07/03/18, 11:17 PM
Taking a moment to say Thank You to the ones that have stepped up as 2018 Champs sponsors, you have made a difference with your help. We are still short of our goal, so if you are on the fence as to whether to help, now is the time to step up. We have a number of Best of's still open and 4 of the 5 class trophies still open for part or full sponsorship. Every dollar will help keep the doors open for the coming years, our hobby is taking big hits in the last few years and USSMA is not the only group feeling the pain. It has come down to the participants and outside of the hobby support to keep the doors open.. If you can sponsor or know of a company or a group that would like to sponsor PLEASE let us know.
Thank You
See you all at the 2018 Champs

Happy Independence Day to all of the USSMA family and friends, enjoy the 4th of July, keep all fingers and leave room for
all that barbecued food that is going to be severed up across this great nation in countless backyards. Oh ya save some beers for the weekend.
