October 2012 NorthWest Scale Aero-Modelling Update
Hello All,

I hope everyone has had a good summer of Scale Aero-Modelling - we are into fall weather already!  Building projects are of prime concern to be ready for next year's Scale events.

This Scale flying season has been very successful, several Fun Scale events held throughout the area;

  • Washington, Oregon, Alberta, British Columbia, Vancouver Island. Let's all do our best to support these events through participation or just dropping in to say hi and thank the CD for organizing the event.

Recent Qualifiers were the Evergreen Scale Masters Qualifier in Molalla, OR hosted by the Portland Sky-Knights and the 2nd NorthWest Scale Championships held in Wenatchee, WA.

Earlier Qualifier Events;

  • Cascade Scale Rally & British Columbia Scale Classic

2013 North West Championships

August 16 – 18, 2013.
2013 North West Championships and the Wenatchee Red Apple Flyer's Scale Qualifier

Thank you to the Wenatchee Red Apple Flyers for hosting the last Qualifier & NW Championships and to continue for the future. The NorthWest Scale Aero-modellers Area Coordinators voted in support of an annual event in Wenatchee due to club support, central location and excellent facility.
Note changes:

  • This will be an annual event at the Wenatchee location
  • 3 day event (was 4)
  • 3rd weekend in August (was the 4th weekend)

A report on the 2012 NW Championships can be found at the NorthWest Scale Aero-Modellers website: http://www.nwsam.org/2012-north-west-championships.html

Become involved; ask your club to host a Fun Scale event. This can be in the form of a one day "Fly & Social" to share knowledge, show off airplanes and do some flying. "How To" and suggestion Information is available through the NWSAM and the US Scale Masters Association websites. Fun Scale Events/socials support the growth of Scale Aero-modelling and AMA/MAAC and Scale Masters national Programs, support and activity is needed.

If you can't find what you need; ask your area Scale representative through the websites.

Late Note: The 2013 Scale Masters Championships location will be announced soon, will advise as soon as I know the details.

                Best Regards,

                Roly Worsfold - Director - NorthWest Scale Aero-Modellers
