Today is August 6.  The Championships start one month from today.  I thought, "I will go check on the new information for the 2012 Championships so I do not attempt to do something that is improper for a manuever."

Guess what?  There are no 2012 information posts, downloads, rules, etc. to be had???????Of course, I have already made room reservations for four of us that have been looking forward to the Championships at the event hotel.

I have been to several Championships through the years and have enjoyed them very much, but if the Dream is to be kept alive, some things have to change..........I know interest in our hobby has declined over the last several years, the economy hasn't been the best, gasoline prices are horrendous and on and on.....

Competition numbers are lower even with the addition of several classes.  Why?  Some of it may be what I listed in the above paragraph, but some of it may also be what appears to be apathy.  I checked the regional forum area to see what the regional directors had posted of interest to scale.  Guess what?  Each of the areas had absolutely nothing in it.

This will probably not be a very popular thought.  I am also not one to complain without offering to help.  So, if I can do anything to help, please let me know.  For now I will continue to go to my local qualifier, maybe even go to one of the other regional qualifiers to show support, and see about coming to the Championships.  But, the Best of the Best has to get Better!

I guess just call me puzzled.

I have read this post and understand. As a new Scale builder and hopefully participant, I thought it proper to post.
