I'm certain that this is not new news to anyone that attended the 2013 Championships event at Woodland/Davis last weekend, but in fairness to the rest of the US Scale Masters Association members and those interested in scale that are members of this site, Bernie Boland has announced his resignation as the National Chairman effective immediately.

I had the opportunity to discuss this with Bernie by phone, and he explained that about a year ago, he left the company he was working for and started a new business involving the manufacturing of lighting systems for boats.  This enterprise has taken an enormous amount of personal time in securing a facility, necessary equipment, staff and the usual business licenses, paperwork, etc., and he has not been able to commit a sufficient amount of time to perform his duties as the National Chairman of the Scale Masters as effectively as he would have liked to.  Bernie believes it is in the best interests of the organization to resign without completing the third year of his term, and allow someone else that does have the time to do that job for the remaining year.

So what is next?  The Scale Masters By-Laws provide for the voting members of the Board of Directors to appoint an interim National Chairman for the remainder of Bernie's term.  Fortunately, this information was available to the Board of Directors prior to their annual meeting during the Championships event.  While I don't want to steal the Board's thunder, I can tell you they developed a short list of candidates to consider for the position, and will undoubtedly be discussing this with the candidates and making a selection in the near future.

Sorry guys; I responded to the "E" mail sent, and when I went to the "Masters "site, I found the results posted, getting "old" I guess.

That's OK, Jim, I can relate.  We missed you on the flight line and were sorry to hear you couldn't make it.  It was one heck of a party with all those pilots and airplanes.

Thanks Mike; I've had some issues here with Moms and couldn't see my way being gone away so long, as it came to be, she had a small stroke wknd before the event and a lot of test later is almost back to normal, as it goes for one
that's 92 now and I'm very glad that she's here to keep me in line....Sure missed being there too, as I always have a great time, visiting and Judging,I sure hated to have to let Jeff down when he asked me to come up and help out, but we have to do what's best for the home front...
Just got the rest of the info off of the site here and the pictures too, again kudo's to all involved in doing so...
Will look for more in near future, hopefully, if more are available?
"Well done", to Jeff and the crew, and all involved in putting on the show, I've been in their shoes and it's a lot of work for days on end..........           Jim Reed #404
