Just to let you guys know that the proposed spot as listed is Alameda, CA This is a retired NAS. Fullsize Runway forever, dirt runway also, Air Museum on site, WWII USS Hornet Aircraft Museum nearby, San Francisco across the bay, Military Restored Vehicles Club wants to have a show, two Hotels 5 minutes from Field,  The Air Museum on the base as a Banquet Room for Saturday Nite. Also in case you wonder where all those crazy things on the show "Myth Busters" is filmed it is the same place Alameda NAS. Hope this gives some excitement for 2013.

I see that the championship has been set for the west coast for 2013, If this organization was really serious about growing the membership and advancing scale flying in this country there would also be a 2013 ScaleMasters Championship for the east coast.

We spend more time screwing around talking about normalized scoring (scoring is way down the list of things that need to be fixed) than working on solving the big problems to grow the organization and to increase participation at events. ::)

Larry - there is only so much money in the coffers to go around.  You cannot imagine how much money goes into one of these things.  If you want a scalemasters championships on the east coast, start working now to line one up.  USSMA can only go where host clubs invite them.

And if we have two championships, why not three (one for middle America)?  Then how do you select the Grand Champion?  Just like Top Gun, there is only one Grand Champion.
